May 5 Rabbi-Led Service
“What? Me Holy?”
Please join me for a worship service on Friday, May 5, at 6:30.
A Torah service will be included. The reading for that Shabbat is a double parshah: Aḥarei Mot and Kedoshim. Kedoshim is the central parshah of the central book of the Torah, not a coincidental fact. It begins: Adonai spoke unto Moses, saying: Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel and say unto them: You shall be holy; for I Adonai your God am holy. What does this mean? Do we all have to be saints? Angels? Rebbes? Can a person, Jewish or not, lead an ordinary life and be holy, too?
We’ll be considering these things on May 5.
